Here, you will enjoy a scenic 30-minute boat ride along one of the Mekong’s smaller tributaries, immersing yourself in the tranquil surroundings.

Your first stop is Bao Island, where you will explore a lush coconut garden and savor the refreshing taste of fresh coconut water. Continuing your adventure, you will visit a coconut processing site before embarking on a delightful 4-kilometer bicycle ride through the charming Huu Dinh village. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional brick factory, where skilled locals employ centuries-old techniques to create their craft.

As you continue your journey, a sampan will take you through a labyrinth of narrow canals, where you will disembark at the home of Mrs. Huong, a local woman who makes her living through fishing and shrimp trapping. In her serene garden, you will be treated to seasonal fruits and honey tea, a perfect way to recharge. Following this, hop on a xe loi for a leisurely ride through the lush coconut palms and village lanes, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.

Afterward, return to the boat for a cruise to the delightful Mango Home Restaurant, where you will enjoy a sumptuous 5-course Mekong-style lunch, showcasing the region's culinary treasures. Post-lunch, you may choose to walk or cycle 500 meters through the peaceful countryside, further connecting with the local landscape.

Your next stop is Mr. Ba Tai’s home, where you will learn about the fascinating art of rice wine distillation. Finally, visit Mr. Sau Tuong, a former Vietcong soldier and skilled rice paper maker. Here, you will hear his personal stories and have the chance to taste crispy rice paper crafted by his wife, adding a personal touch to your experience.

Destination Information

My Tho

My Tho unfolds along the intricate waterways of the Mekong River Delta, where a network of channels and lush greenery shapes both the landscape and local life. The city’s low-rise buildings and riverside markets reflect a pace rooted in agriculture and river trade, with daily activities closely tied to the water. Fruit orchards spread beyond the urban edges, offering a glimpse into the region’s fertile soil and tropical climate. Traditional wooden boats navigate the canals, providing a practical means of transport and a way to explore the surrounding delta. Religious architecture, such as the Vinh Trang Pagoda, introduces historical and cultural layers amid the natural setting, blending Buddhist artistry with local craftsmanship. Handicraft workshops and markets reveal the skills passed down through generations, connecting visitors to the community’s everyday rhythms. The combination of waterways, cultivated land, and cultural sites creates a setting where the natural environment and human activity coexist, defining My Tho’s distinctive character within southern Vietnam.
