Your trek will take you from the Lao Chai village, home to the proud Black Hmong ethnic group, to the Ta Van village, inhabited by the Giay minority. Along the way, you will also visit a charming local Catholic Church, adding a cultural touch to your journey. The Black Hmong, one of the largest ethnic groups in the Sapa region, are known for their vibrant indigo blue traditional attire and their commitment to preserving their rich cultural heritage.
As you continue your trek, you will encounter the Giay people, a smaller group of approximately 38,000 individuals who primarily reside in the mountainous areas of Northwest Vietnam. While modernization has influenced some of their customs, many Giay women still don traditional shirts adorned in shades of purple, blue, or green. Their homes, constructed from wood and bamboo with clay floors, reflect their connection to the land and their enduring traditions.
