Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary

Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary serves as a vital conservation center, managed by The Department of Wildlife and National Parks. The dedicated staff at the sanctuary focus on locating, subduing, and relocating elephants from areas where their natural habitats have been compromised due to urban development. This essential work not only aids in the preservation of these majestic creatures but also highlights the urgent need for habitat and environmental conservation.

Over the past 25 years, the sanctuary has played a crucial role in preventing the decline of the elephant population, successfully relocating more than 300 wild elephants to safer environments. Visitors to the sanctuary will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges these animals face and the importance of protecting their habitats. The experience is further enriched by a delightful local lunch, allowing guests to savor the flavors of the region while surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the sanctuary.
