Oost Bali Tour
This full-day tour offers a perfect blend of nature and culture, inviting travelers to immerse themselves in the enchanting landscapes and rich heritage of East Bali. Rising majestically to 2,567 meters above sea level, Mount Agung dominates the horizon, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey.
Your adventure begins at Kerta Gosa, the former royal court of justice located in Klungkung. Here, you will explore the intricacies of Balinese history and governance, complemented by a visit to the adjacent museum, which houses fascinating artifacts and exhibits.
Continuing your exploration, you will arrive at Tenganan, one of Bali’s ancient “Bali Aga” villages. This captivating destination preserves traditions that predate the significant Hindu influence on the island, and is particularly famous for its exquisite double ikat weaving, a craft that showcases the skill and artistry of local artisans.
As the day unfolds, you will visit Goa Lawah, or the Bat Cave, where thousands of bats can be observed hanging within the cave's dark recesses, creating a unique and somewhat mystical atmosphere. This site, located behind a temple, offers a glimpse into the natural wonders that coexist with Bali's spiritual landscape.
In the afternoon, your journey takes you to the slopes of Mount Agung, where you will explore Besakih Temple, known as the Mother Temple of Bali. Perched at an altitude of 900 meters, this expansive temple complex is the largest and most significant on the island, encompassing around 35 temples within its serene grounds. The spiritual ambiance, coupled with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, makes this visit a profound experience.
