Your adventure begins with a visit to the impressive city of Angkor Thom, known as the 'Great City'. Here, you will uncover the most significant temples commissioned by King Jayavarman VII during the late 12th and early 13th centuries. Enter through the South Gate, where you can admire the imposing 23-metre-high stone sculptures that bear the serene faces of Avalokiteshvara.
As you make your way to the heart of the citadel, the Bayon Temple awaits, distinguished by its massive towers adorned with tranquil stone faces. The walls of this remarkable structure are engraved with intricate bas-reliefs that depict scenes from the daily life and customs of the Khmer people, offering a captivating insight into their rich culture.

The final stop on this remarkable day is Ta Prohm Temple, a site that has been largely preserved in its natural state, overrun by dense jungle. Here, enormous roots, branches, and foliage intertwine with the temple's walls, roofs, and terraces, creating a fascinating blend of nature and human craftsmanship.
As the day draws to a close, witness a breathtaking sunset over the plains of Angkor from the heights of Phnom Bakheng Hill Temple, or alternatively from Pre Rup Temple. Enjoy panoramic views across the Angkor area, including the serene West Baray Lake, visible only from Phnom Bakheng.
