Mari Mari Cultural Village
Upon your arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and prepared for a fascinating journey back in time to prehistoric Borneo. A briefing on the Village Rules is essential before you step into this vibrant cultural enclave. You will be greeted by the Chief, who will guide you through a heartfelt Welcome Ceremony, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
As you cross the suspension bridge into the village, you will be captivated by the sights and sounds of a bygone era. Strolling through the village, you will encounter various demonstration huts alongside traditional tribe houses, where the daily activities of ancient times come vividly to life. Witness the intricate art of blowpipe making, learn the age-old technique of starting a fire using bamboo, and discover the significance of tattoo making within the culture.
Your exploration continues with captivating demonstrations of bamboo cooking, the traditional process of making rice wine (lihing), and the distillation of Montoku, a local rice wine. You will also gain insight into the ancient methods of producing ropes, vests, floors, and walls from tree barks, showcasing the resourcefulness and craftsmanship of the indigenous tribes.
Travel Notes

- Comfortable walking shoes are essential due to the village's terrain; avoid slippery sandals to ensure safety while traversing the suspension bridge and demonstration areas.
- Clients should bring a cap or hat for sun protection, especially if the tour is conducted during midday hours.
