Luang Prabang City Tour & Pak Ou Caves Boat Tour

For those who rise early, the alms-giving ceremony in the tranquil streets of Luang Prabang is a must-see. Each morning, hundreds of monks emerge from the many temples, collecting alms from the local community. With the guidance of our knowledgeable tour leader, you can find the best vantage points to witness this beautiful spectacle away from the crowds. Feel free to participate in this sacred tradition by preparing and offering alms yourself. Following this, take a moment to explore the vibrant morning market, where local flavors and crafts abound.

After breakfast at your hotel, embark on a leisurely exploration of the UNESCO World Heritage town. To truly appreciate the charm of Luang Prabang, we recommend walking or cycling through its narrow, winding alleys, allowing you to soak in the atmosphere at a relaxed pace.

Your journey may lead you past stunning temples as you make your way to the peninsula. Dominating the skyline is Phousi Mountain, which invites you to ascend its 328 steps. The effort is rewarded with a breathtaking near 360-degree view of Luang Prabang, including the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum, which will be our next destination.

As we continue our cultural journey, we visit Wat Xiengthong, the most renowned temple in Luang Prabang, steeped in nearly 500 years of history. Nearby, you may also wish to explore the tranquil Wat Mai temple.

Next, we arrive at the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Center (TAEC), a treasure trove of information about Laos and its diverse ethnic groups. This enriching experience provides valuable insights into the country and its people. For lunch, you will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of delightful restaurants that Luang Prabang has to offer.

In the afternoon, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the boat landing on the peninsula. Here, you will board a private boat for a serene cruise along the Mekong River. As you glide through the tranquil countryside, you will soon reach the captivating Pak Ou Caves, which are set within a limestone cliff and filled with thousands of Buddha statues of varying shapes and sizes. After exploring these mystical caves, we will return downstream, making a stop at Wat Done Khoun, a unique temple located on an island in the Mekong. As the sun sets behind the mountains, take in the breathtaking scenery before we conclude our day and return you to your hotel in Luang Prabang, enveloped in the beauty of twilight.
