Hue Imperial Heritage Experience

Upon your arrival in Hue, your journey begins with a visit to the magnificent Citadel at the Imperial Palace. Completed in 1833, this historic site served as the ruling seat for the emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty until 1945. As you enter the citadel via a charming stone bridge, you will be greeted by the impressive Thai Hoa Palace, a significant venue for official receptions and important court ceremonies.

Your exploration continues with a scenic drive to the Thien Mu Pagoda, which gracefully overlooks the tranquil Perfume River. The pagoda features two distinct sections; the front showcases the seven-storey octagonal Phuoc Duyen tower, an enduring symbol of Hue. The rear section serves as the residence for the monks who live and practice Buddhism within its serene confines.

After a delightful lunch, you will visit the tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, renowned for its stunning royal architecture, a true masterpiece of the Nguyen dynasty. Construction of this remarkable tomb commenced in December 1864 and was completed in 1867. Your day culminates with a visit to the tomb of Khai Dinh, who ruled Vietnam from 1916 to 1925. This tomb, which began construction in 1920 and took 11 years to finish, is a fascinating blend of European architectural styles, primarily constructed from concrete.

As you return to Hoi An, your journey takes you through the Hai Van tunnel, which opened in 2005 and stretches an impressive 6.3 kilometers, making it the longest tunnel in Vietnam.
