Day 1 – Arrival and Trek to Muong Village
Your journey begins with a departure from Hanoi at 7:00 AM, leading you to the enchanting Cuc Phuong National Park, where you will arrive around 9:00 or 10:00 AM. Your first stop is the Visitor Center, where captivating displays of pictures and models provide a wealth of information about the park's unique ecosystem. Next, you will visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Center, the first of its kind in Indochina and Vietnam, established in 1993 to protect 15 species and sub-species of some of the world's rarest primates, rescued from the wildlife trade.
Following these enlightening visits, you will embark on a scenic drive of approximately 20 kilometers to the park center, where your adventure continues with a long trek to the Muong village. Departing from the park center, you will traverse the lush primary forest for about 16 kilometers over the course of five to six hours. The trail leads you through ancient limestone rocky slopes, surrounded by trees that have stood for millennia. Upon reaching the Muong village, you will be warmly welcomed by the hospitable locals, who will serve you a delightful dinner prepared in traditional Muong style. As the evening unfolds, you may have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional music performance in a stilt house, available upon request.
Overnight accommodation in a standard local hotel.
Day 2 – Village Exploration and Departure
After a restful night in one of the traditional stilt houses, you will awaken to the sounds of village life—chickens clucking and buffaloes stirring.
