Excursion Highlights

Cambodia Wildlife Sanctuary

Your day begins with a comfortable pickup from your hotel in Siem Reap, followed by a scenic journey into the countryside to the Cambodia Wildlife Sanctuary. Upon arrival, you’ll step into a peaceful natural environment where rescued female elephants roam freely in their jungle home. From a close yet respectful distance, you’ll have the chance to observe these gentle animals as they go about their daily lives—snacking on banana stems and fresh grass, foraging through native vegetation, cooling off in ponds, and covering themselves in mud to protect their skin. The experience is calm, immersive, and centered on allowing the elephants to simply be elephants.

Midway through the day, you’ll enjoy a delicious vegan buffet lunch surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the forest, offering a moment to relax and reflect on the morning’s encounters. Afterward, the experience continues as you meet more rescued elephants in another part of the sanctuary, again observing them respectfully in their natural habitat as they wander and interact with their environment.

Later, you’ll take part in a hands-on activity by preparing food for the animals and helping to feed both the elephants and monkeys, creating a memorable and meaningful connection with them. As the day comes to a close, you’ll depart the sanctuary and return to Siem Reap, carrying with you a deeper appreciation for wildlife conservation and the beauty of seeing animals thrive in a protected, natural setting.

Important Note: There is no direct interaction with the elephants. Participants are only allowed to observe the animals from a respectful distance.

Destination Information

Siem Reap

Siem Reap is a city where ancient history and everyday life coexist amid a landscape shaped by waterways and lush greenery. Its streets reveal a blend of traditional Khmer architecture and modest urban development, reflecting a community rooted in local customs while engaging with growing tourism. The city’s proximity to the vast Tonle Sap Lake influences both its economy and atmosphere, with floating villages and fishing activities visible beyond the urban edges. Central to Siem Reap’s identity is the nearby Angkor Archaeological Park, where temple ruins rise from dense forest, offering insight into the grandeur of the Khmer Empire. This historical presence contrasts with the lively Old Market area, where vendors sell local crafts and produce, providing a glimpse into contemporary daily life. Beyond the city limits, Phnom Kulen National Park offers natural landscapes and spiritual sites, reinforcing the region’s connection to Cambodia’s cultural heritage. Together, these elements create a destination that balances the weight of its past with the rhythms of present-day community life.
